Here Johnny Marr was playing one of his two warm up gigs (the other in Leeds) before a home coming gig at Castle field Bowl in Manchester.
A near full house at the Academy saw Johnny play tracks from his solo albums,The Smiths and one from Electronic (Getting away with it) and even the Iggy Pop classic ‘The Passenger’. Three new tracks from the up and coming album The Age of everything. Lead single Spin ,All in a life and it’s Time all went down with crowd .
The Smiths singles/ tracks went down a storm with the crowd singing and dancing away to This Charming Man, Panic,Big mouth Strikes Again and How soon is now. Easy Money was another single that got the crowd buzzing. A rather good evening was had by everybody. James Doviak keyboards/ guitar also got great rendition of happy birthday from the crowd.
