Having heard Keyside’s glowing reviews of recent support slots with Shed Seven , Blossoms and Royston Club and heading there tour last year,I went to see if the reviews were right .
I arrived early to collect my Jacaranda Baltic limited edition album and there was already a little queue which gradually filled up to all the way around the corner.The Jacaranda Baltic holds approx 450 and it was a sellout with a mixed crowd varying in ages young, old, teens ,twenty something’s.
Faeturing Dani-lee Parker on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Ben Cassidy lead guitar, Max Gibson on Bass and backing vocals and Oisin McAvoy on drums. I wasn’t disappointed, they nailed it from the opening “Here’s an old one as they played Nikita”. A new single Lemon and Lime and ,Cocodamol followed. Then “Track 5 off the album “”Heaven ” The songs have meanings and ” Echoes”was written about his uncle dying of a drug overdose .
The band delivered what I was expecting and cannot go wrong being nurtured by Carl of The Farm. Catch them later in the year on their headlining “One Way paradise” tour with STRATA supporting them on all dates in November and December , if you like your music pop fused indy.
