CrocFest 4 at Outpost. we could could only get there late on to see a couple of bands. Over the past 3 or 4 months, i’ve seen a number of posts regarding Grail Guard. Did some youtube vids, thinking these are quite good, combined with the message of anti racism and pretty much most other isms and ists it got me thinking yet again about over hyped bands and such like. Anyway, as we walked into the venue, the sound was deafening, snaking my way to the front i knew this was gonna be another one of those rare jaw dropping moments. The hype was real, the energy was high, the angst was real. This is a band that does exactly what it says on the tin. Riaz screaming out his message against fascism, racism and bigotry was a joy to behold. This is one hell of a band, lyrically dangerous and needed, musically tight as fuck. The crowd soaking up every last word and note. Sweat dripping and spraying everywhere the lads showed how it’s done.
Shortly after the set i had a brief chat with Riaz, a demure quietly spoken man with a humble persona. Cheers to you and the lads for a memorable set, and hope to see you again soon.

The last band on was our very own The DRY RETCH. The usual boistrous antipidean hard punk rock noise from the boys. The usual complimentary words from Ozzy John bestowing kind words and love to the crowd. One of the stalwart bands on the scene for a few years. Finally a huge cheers to Mark for putting this day together, another one of our local music heroes. cheers mate
