Chris Difford, Squeeze’s joint lead singer started proceedings with a accomplished set of Squeeze singles including Temped, Up the Junction, Cool For Cats and Pulling Mussels from A Shell. Quick witted introductions to the songs had the crowd in stitches “We never got to Number One because of a song about a rabbit a Fucking Rabbit” Ok I hate Art Garfunkel!!.

Elvis Costello and the Imposters were on stage for over 2 hours and the had the Olympia crowd wowed. Coming onto Heaven 17’s “We don’t need this fascist groove thing” and going off to “Nellie the Elephant”. A set that included the hit singles “Oliver’s Army”,”I Cant stand up for falling down”, “A good year for the roses”,”Watching the detectives”,”Alison” and slowed down versions of Shipbuilding and Everyday I write the book maybe to accommodate his ageing voice. Overall an enjoyable evening for the crowd who were singing along to all the songs from both bands.
