New venue run out for me and my co-conspirators on a late September evening – but well worth the trip indeed!
Adam doesn’t do things by half – quiet night in The Spinning Top Stockport but Mr Rock n Roll doesn’t let it change his attitude or performance.
Opening solo on 12 string he delivers covers and originals with a passion that the journeymen of the other bars can only dream of .. Kiss, Bowie ,Stones, Oasis, Zeppelin and a host of originals feature in his set. His version of Angie particularly sweet on a 12 with altered lyrics for an audience member Chrissy.
Adam n co – oh wow it’s full on stadium rock – awesomeness! A tight as hell band who will play 150 gigs on a slow year. Their drummer Leo in particular a stellar find and a genuine powerhouse! Classic rock anthems effortlessly delivered, the truly dirty blues of Crash Boom Bang – I defy anyone not to rock to this! Sleazy as I want my Heavy Metal and I got it in spades. Adam is a consummate performer and player.
The evening ended far too quickly for me,I truly could have Rock n Rolled All Night!
Followed by Dorset boy Charley Westing playing an upbeat set of originals .. A fair few potential bangers in there – definitely worth a revisit.
Do yourself a big favour – go see them – you will smile from ear to ear – Spinal Tap is alive, filthy n kickin!!! It really does goes past 11 if you’re Adam Bomb.
