First band announcement: We’re pleased beyond tablets to announce that we’ve coaxed Liverpool Giants The Gentle Scars back to The Salty Dog on Saturday 29 November 2025.
The Gentle Scars are long established musical giants from Merseyside. A band who provide some of the greatest vocal melodies you’ve ever heard sitting ontop of a dirty glam oozing post punk powerhouse of a band.
Here’s what we said about them a while back:
‘In an ideal world, The Gentle Scars would be a massive band who’ve by now gone rubbish and irrelevant, like famous bands are wont to do. Instead, they remain Liverpool’s dirty little secret, playing with an energy bands half their age lack, with a sound that has more in common with Hanoi Rocks and New York Dolls than Merseybeat. As they sing in one of their best tunes, their music inhabits a different world – a “Mondo Trasho”.’
The pub is open all day providing an ace selection of beers.
