What a great way to spend a Friday night at DISTRICT Club in Liverpool. A Love Music Hate Racism gig featuring there bands: Peter Bentham and the Dinner Ladies, Zen Baseball Bat and Vamos. Los Fastidious were the headliners but had to pull out due to political reasons.

Vamos opened the night with original drummer Tony also of the Dinner Ladies. “It’s been a year since we last played in Liverpool” say the band with members flying in from Iceland and Ireland for the gig. A nine track setlist comprising of album tracks and singles and a solo track that’s never been done as a group live before.

Six piece Zen Baseballbat open up with ”Trouble”. Their music and sound is a fusion of Punk, Ska and Reggae. You can hear Bob Marley, Madness and sounds of Two-Tone in there set. The set concludes with a great cover of Blancmanges “Living on the ceiling”.

The Dinner Ladies play DIY punk and start with “Brick” and with fan favourites like kebab, Che Guevara and Hip Potater and finishing with Lorry Driver with the crowd simulating driving a lorry in dance moves. Theres a new album coming soon and SHED is played from it as well as the new single “ART IS SHIT which the video was directed by Zen Baseball bat.
