Snapshot Review: Peter Bentham and the Dinner Ladies acoustic and The Punk Shop Boys at Hobo Kiosk Liverpool  – Thursday 13 November 2025

The quaint and quirky settings of Liverpools tiny pub/venue Hobo Kiosk (it’s like stepping into Narnia as envisioned by Dali) hosted two bands tonight Pete Bentham and the Dinner Ladies and The punk Shop Boys. The compact little venue was full to capacity.

The Dinner Ladies opened with SHED and then played a select set of old and new tracks. Stand outs were Art is Shit, Che Quervara Thing, fan favourite Queen Victorias Knob and Lorry Driver complete with moving actions from band dancers and joined fervently by the crowd.

The Punk Shop Boys,  a duo consisting of ex Interrobang‽ members Stephen Griffiths on keyboards, drumbeats and guitar and Dunstan Bruce (ex Chumbawumba) on vocals. The drum beats were heavy and they had a tinge of the Beastie Boys. Duncan dressed in pin stripe grey suit and was running down the aisles with his megaphone and holding up sign boards with ‘We’ve got to rethink”. Check these out out as they produced a beautiful noise.
